We have a strong commitment to efficient and environmentally friendly processing to manufacture metals to specific size, density and quality preferred by steel mills and foundries for melting in the production of new finished products.
Most scrap programs are overlooked, unchecked, and carry an "if it's not broken, don't fix it" mentality. For those looking for an advantage—not just a price quote—there's more to gain from your program.

Bob's Metals, Inc. was established as a Portland, Oregon-based family business in 1983. Founded by Bob and Idelle Weinstein, the company began as a one-man operation servicing the scrap metal recycling needs of local community businesses.
Our humble beginnings — Est. 1983
Bob grew up in the scrap metal recycling business and worked at various yards through high school and college. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a business degree, he spent seventeen years in the industry across Portland, Oregon and Tacoma, Washington before opening Bob's Metals under the Ross Island Bridge.
After decades of service, Bob's Metals has grown into one of the Northwest's leading metal processing facilities. The company is now owned and operated by the second generation of family members and remains positioned for long-term growth on the strong foundation and proud reputation initiated by Bob Weinstein.
Bob's Metals sells scrap metal to customers domestically and around the world via truck, rail and container ship. We are known for our cut-grade steel and aluminum, stainless, and copper commodities.

Our facility is one of the only scrap metal recycling operations in the United States with a fully contained zero-discharge site.
